Position Overview
The Group Finance Controller Director reports directly to the Group CFO and provides strategic financial leadership across the organization. This senior role oversees the financial control framework while leading specialized Finance Business Partners to support key business functions. The position requires exceptional financial acumen, leadership abilities, and business partnership skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Controlling Leadership and Strategy
Develop and implement robust financial control frameworks across all entities and subsidiaries
Lead AOP, month-end and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy and compliance
Oversee consolidated financial reporting and analysis for executive decision-making
Drive standardization and lead continuous improvement initiatives of financial policies, procedures, and systems across the group
Implement standardized margin analysis and monitoring between subsidiaries and group
Analyze profitability variances between subsidiaries and drive performance improvements.
Monitor and optimize inter-company transactions and transfer pricing mechanisms to optimize overall group profitability
Lead initiatives to identify and eliminate profit leakages across the value chain
Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain strong internal controls
Manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions
2. Finance Controlling by key functions:
FBP Agro Function
Oversee financial controls for Agro sourcing operations, pricing and costs across all subsidiaries
Support subsidiaries in implementing best practices for Agro financial management
Monitor margins and profitability across Agro operations in different subsidiaries
Mentor finance staff in analyzing Agro input costs and productivity metrics
FBP Production Function
Supervise production costs and margins across subsidiaries and identify optimization opportunities
Continuously develop FBP capabilities in production costing, utilization and variance analysis and support in deployment to other strategic regions
Support subsidiaries with specialized production financial expertise as needed
FBP Supply Chain Function
Lead financial controlling for S&OP, procurement, logistics, and inventory management
Coach FBP teams on working capital optimization across the supply chain
Develop team capabilities in financial analysis for make-vs-buy decisions
Analyze margin impacts of supply chain decisions across subsidiaries
Support subsidiaries in optimizing inter-company supply chain costs
Mentor finance staff in supply chain cost and efficiency analysis
FBP Commercial Function
Oversee financial controlling for sales, marketing, and commercial operations
Coach teams on financial aspects of market trends, pricing strategies, investment, commercial/ customer/ product performance analysis;
Monitor customer and product margins across different subsidiaries and markets
Support subsidiaries in market-specific financial challenges and opportunities
Mentor finance staff in commercial performance analysis and
FBP other support functions (R&D, HR, IT, Legal, Risk management)
Partner with other functional leaders for budget management and initiatives for optimizing costs and resource allocation.
Provide decision support through scenario analysis and business case development
Support contract reviews by providing financial risk assessment
Partner with legal teams to ensure financial compliance across all jurisdictions
Develop financial risk assessment frameworks and support risk mitigation planning with cost-benefit analysis
IPO Readiness
Lead pre-IPO financial assessment and remediation of identified gaps
Develop investor-focused financial metrics, KPIs, and narrative for roadshow presentations
Establish governance infrastructure including disclosure committees and reporting protocols
3. Team Leadership and Development
Build and lead a high-performing finance team across all business functions and subsidiaries
Conduct regular performance reviews and career development discussions
Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across subsidiary finance teams
Provide targeted support to subsidiary finance teams and deploy specialized finance resources to subsidiaries requiring additional expertise
Promote cross-functional and cross-subsidiary collaboration; proactively supports subsidiaries' needs
12+ years of progressive finance experience with at least 5 years in senior finance leadership
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, APA, CMA) required.
Demonstrated expertise in financial controlling across multiple business functions
Strong leadership experience managing diverse finance teams
Experience in multinational organizations with complex organizational structures
Advanced knowledge of financial systems and technologies
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
