Supplier Quality Engineer

Work Location: 36 VSIP, Street No. 4, Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park, Binh Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier quality performance meets customer and Coherent requirements. This role works closely with suppliers, engineering, and internal stakeholders to drive supplier qualification, corrective actions, and continuous improvement within an international manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Supplier Quality Program.
• Qualify suppliers through quality surveys, document reviews, and on-site assessments.
• Act as the technical interface between suppliers and internal Engineering teams.
• Manage supplier nonconformance issues, including NCR and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
• Monitor and drive closure of RTV cases, root cause analysis, and corrective action effectiveness.
• Analyze supplier quality performance metrics, trends, PPMs, and generate monthly quality reports.
• Support supplier development activities for new supplier sourcing and continuous improvement of existing suppliers.
• Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits as required.
• Provide technical and statistical quality support to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (Mechanical, Industrial, Optics, or equivalent).
• 0-2 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or related roles in an international manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with supplier quality tools and methodologies including FMEA, SPC, 5Whys, and structured problem solving.
• Experience managing supplier NCR, SCAR, and corrective action processes.
• Working knowledge of ISO quality systems; ISO auditor experience is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
