Senior Mechanical Engineer

1. Manages all stages of a project, including research, development and deployment. Creates engineering goals for each project, including timelines and budgets, and meets those goals.
2. Serves as a technical leader on cross-functional projects. Breaks down complex problems into simple solutions and understands system interdependencies and limitations.
3. Provides technical guidance and mentorship to technical departments. Offers advice and guides junior engineers through complex projects.
4. Interacts with customers and other external stakeholders as a consultant on technical matters.
5. Creates business opportunities through innovation and recommends changes to current technical practices. Proactively spends time looking for and identifying impactful problems.
6. May be asked to bridge the gap between technical staff and executive management.
7. Supports creating, developing and deploying technical roadmaps, projects and action plans.
8. Provides training, shares good practices and develops engineering staff technical competences.
9. Conduct research on new technologies, capabilities and competences.

General Requirements:

1. BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Material Science/Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
2. 10+ years’ experience (including Design for Manufacturing) within the respective Engineering field.
3. Highly successful new product development and introduction track record.
4. Exposure to a multi-national hands-on manufacturing environment.
5. Exposure to global design organizations.
6. Fluent written and spoken English.
7. Coaching and Mentoring skills.
8. Technical leadership skills.

Specific Competency Require:

• Evaluate, select, and specify touchscreen technologies (capacitive, resistive, infrared, etc.) and materials (glass, film, coatings) suitable for specific application requirements.
• Conduct research and benchmarking to identify the best HMI solutions aligned with project specifications and customer needs.
• Develop comprehensive testing protocols to evaluate screen durability, responsiveness, readability, and overall user experience.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to integrate HMI components seamlessly into products.
• Optimize user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designs to enhance usability, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
• Document specifications, test results, and validation reports clearly and accurately.
• Stay current on advancements in touchscreen technologies, materials innovations, and industry standards.
• Deep understanding of various touchscreen technologies, their applications, advantages, and limitations.
• Knowledge of screen materials, including durability, coatings, optical properties, and tactile response.
• Proven experience developing and implementing rigorous test procedures for touchscreen evaluation.
• Familiarity with UI/UX principles and proficiency in tools used to design and prototype interfaces.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information.
