Senior Costing Analyst

Product Costing & Analysis

· Maintain and update standard costs for spices, custom blends, and finished goods, incorporating raw materials, labor, overhead, and packaging.

· Analyze variances including purchase price variance (PPV), material usage, yield, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption.

· Prepare and review cost roll-ups for new and existing SKUs across multiple production lines and blending operations.

· Validate BOMs and routings, ensuring accuracy in ERP systems.

· Maintain costing-related master data in the ERP system.

· Conduct margin analysis by product, product line, and customer.

Financial Support for Operations

· Partner with plant leadership to evaluate manufacturing performance, identify cost drivers, and highlight improvement opportunities.

· Lead monthly close activities related to cost accounting, including inventory reconciliations and variance explanations.

· Support annual standard cost updates, labor rate reviews, and overhead allocation processes.

· Ensure data consistency and establish reporting governance for Finance, FP&A, and Operations.

Raw Material & Commodity Insights

· Work with Procurement to monitor commodity price movements, model costing impacts from supplier changes, harvest outcomes, and global spice market trends.

· Provide forward-looking cost forecasts used in pricing and quoting decisions.

Commercial & Pricing Support

· Prepare costing inputs for customer bids, RFQs, and sales proposals.

· Collaborate with Sales and R&D on new product development costing.

· Evaluate customer- and product-level profitability, recommending pricing actions when needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

· 5+ years of cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or product costing experience.

· Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing processes.

· Experience in a food manufacturing environment.

· Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
