Business Analyst (BA) in the (FMCG) industry involves using data and business insights to help companies optimize operations, improve product performance, and drive growth.
1. Data Analysis & Reporting
* Analyze sales, marketing, supply chain, and customer data.
* Monitor KPIs like product performance, market share, and customer behavior.
* Use tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau for data visualization.
2. Market & Consumer Insights
* Identify market trends and consumer preferences.
* Support marketing and product teams with customer segmentation and targeting strategies.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and promotions.
3. Demand & Sales Forecasting
* Work closely with supply chain and sales teams to forecast demand.
* Help ensure optimal inventory levels and reduce stockouts/overstocks.
4. Business Strategy & Decision Support
* Provide actionable insights to support strategic decisions.
* Evaluate pricing strategies, product launches, and market entry initiatives.
* Perform competitor and SWOT analyses.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain.
* Translate business needs into technical requirements for Octopus teams.
6. Process Improvement
* Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies.
* Recommend and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
* Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
* Have more 2 years of experience in business analysis, strategy, or operations support roles (in FMCG preferred).
* Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in data tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau).
* Understanding of FMCG market dynamics.
* Communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
