Quality Assurance Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager specializing in flexible packaging to join our team. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of our flexible packaging products, processes, and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance within the flexible packaging industry, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management System (QMS) Development and Maintenance: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) for flexible packaging products, processes, and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Product Quality Assurance: Oversee all aspects of product quality assurance, including incoming raw materials inspection, in-process monitoring, and finished product testing, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Supplier Quality Management: Establish and maintain effective supplier quality management processes, including supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective action management, to ensure the quality and reliability of raw materials and components.

Customer Quality Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality-related inquiries and concerns, proactively addressing customer feedback and implementing corrective and preventive actions to meet customer expectations.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards related to flexible packaging, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements, such as FDA regulations, ISO standards, and customer-specific requirements.

Quality Audits and Inspections: Plan and conduct internal and external quality audits and inspections to assess compliance with QMS requirements, identify non-conformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.

Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to production and quality control personnel on quality assurance procedures, standards, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, documentation, and reports, including non-conformance reports, corrective action reports, and quality performance metrics, to facilitate decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

5+ years of experience in quality assurance roles within the flexible packaging industry, with a strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and quality standards.

Proven track record of developing and implementing effective Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality assurance programs.

Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to flexible packaging, such as FDA regulations, ISO standards, and customer-specific requirements.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex quality concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with quality management tools and methodologies, such as statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or similar certification preferred.
