We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team in the logistics sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective cost management. This role involves close collaboration with operations, procurement, and finance teams to optimize cost efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collect, analyze, and report cost data related to logistics operations.

- Prepare and maintain cost allocation reports, variance analyses, and profitability statements.

- Monitor and review transportation and handling costs to ensure accuracy.

- Coordinate with operations teams to track fuel consumption, equipment maintenance, and other cost drivers.

- Conduct cost analysis for new contracts, tenders, and service proposals.

- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.

- Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting.

Recommend cost control measures to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

-          Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

-          Minimum 2–3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.

-          Strong knowledge of cost analysis, cost allocation, and financial reporting.

-          Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

-          Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

-          Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-          Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS

-          Experience in logistics cost structures (transportation, warehousing, import/export).

-          Knowledge of international shipping and customs regulations.

-          Familiarity with systems used in logistics.

-          Proficiency in Excel, VBA and Power BI is preferred
