Merchant Acquisition Associate/Senior

Get to know the role:
Oversee the entire operations within merchant acquisition and onboarding

The day-to-day activities:

  • Develop strategy to enter new GrabFood segments maximize resources as well as business opportunities to achieve targets;

  • Identify, build relationships/partnerships with merchants and manage their performance and contribution to building the GrabFood merchant network

  • Build, manage and develop Merchant Acquisition team by leading, coaching, supporting & motivating through technical & commercial knowledge, communication transparency, winning spirit, fighting resilience and performance acknowledgement;

  • Coach and provide necessary training and development for all subordinates to increase their capabilities, productivity, creativity and motivation that will support both current functional goals and long term business growth;

  • Design and execute acquisition incentive framework

  • Be accountable for merchant activity all the way until first order (pitching, signing, onboarding) before handing to the account management team

  • Keep abreast of the market and industry situation and competitor activity in order to revise and develop strategies to meet market changes and merchants’ requirements;

  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of all products and services GrabFood offers.

  • Work with other team in Grab (GrabPay and Rewards) to align on a strong value proposition


The must haves:

  • University graduate or higher education in business or relevant fields;

  • Minimum 6-year experience in sales management with successful track records and strong ability to develop winning teams;

  • Good understanding and experience of the relevant industries including payment products, customers, partners and merchants.

  • F&B industry background is advantage

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English

  • Microsoft Office skills are required (MS. Excel, MS. Word and MS. Powerpoint)

  • A team player but also able to work independently

  • Ability to build good relationships with merchants and match merchant needs and organization resources to grow GrabFood business

  • Energetic, enthusiastic and calm even in very dynamic and fast pace working condition

  • Excellent time management and communication skills with excellent leadership skills
