Data Analytics and Insights Manager - GrabFinancial

Get to know the Role:

• Lead and build a team of highly motivated analysts

• Coach and guide the team to perform at an exceptional level and manage expectations with various stakeholders

• Plan and execute strategy & roadmaps, which include workforce planning and development of strategies and methods

• Develop a deep behavioural understanding and intuition of user financial behaviours, internal risk and controls with the use of data

• Translate these intuitions into recommendations and actions to reduce any exposure to financial risk

• Collaborate with various cross-functional groups such as Country Verticals, Product and Engineer leaders, Compliance etc. to understand the business needs, identify new opportunities to expand GrabFinancial’s universe, and to act upon the insights developed  

• Design, implement, and maintain a world-class data reporting and insights framework across all risk domains

• Own risk data, ensure necessary databases are maintained for research and regulatory purposes

• Support risk operational reporting needs such as case management insights as well as workforce management and planning processes

• Build strong relationships with management, technical and operational executives; translate data speak to human speak in order to effectively conceptualise analysis and propose solutions to business stakeholders with the purpose of enhancing operational performance

You must possess:

• Problem-solving, positive, and constructive attitude is a must

• Degree or Professional Qualification in a related field

• At least 3-5 years of experience in leading a team or people management and overall 8+ years of experience in analytics or data science environment

• Experience in data analytics, data mining, and data analyses using R, SQL, Python, or any statistical programming

• Ability to work with technical stakeholders across data science, AI. product development, engineering on projects focused on building best in class risk technologies 

• Experience in data visualisation using Tableau or similar tools

• Strong experience with metrics and reporting

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong training skills

• Detail-oriented and efficient time manager who is able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment

• Comfort in dealing with ambiguity and operating in fast-changing, unstructured environment

• Structured, factual and data-driven; ability to deep dive into data then elaborate clear insights

• Meticulous attention to detail and double-checking as a second nature

(Really) Nice-to-haves

• Sound knowledge in e-payments and fintech, and related fraud, desired but not absolutely required

• Knowledge of credit card scheme rules and banking processes

• Experience in internal audit or risk analytics

• Proficiency in a local SEA language

• Working experience in a startup environment

• Experienced with Zendesk or similar case management systems
