Get to know the Role:

The Business Development Manager is expected to work with the Head of Acquisition and Support to shape and implement a partnership roadmap with the end goal of establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships that will enable Grab to secure its supply and assist its riders, operators, drivers and partners with their car and personal needs.

The successful candidate is very good at partnership strategy and operations. He has strong written and verbal communication skills, is extremely skilled at negotiation, stakeholder management and contract management. He also needs to know project management in order to execute partnerships and see it come to fruition.


The day-to-day activities:

  • Partnership strategy
  • Business development and partnerships – including pitches, negotiations, deal closing and support
  • Contract management – including contract writing and reviews
  • Create topline and detailed reports on partnerships
  • Ensure that Grab is well-represented in front of partners
  • Ensure that mutually beneficial partnerships are formed between Grab and its partners
  • Ensure that partnerships follow a long-term roadmap that will enable Grab to achieve its objectives
  • Monitor budget utilization for the team
  • Analyze financial value of partnerships and deals formed between Grab and partners
  • Work with teammates and other departments to execute projects
  • Work with supply acquisition and retention teams to achieve business needs
  • Coach and mentor business development associates

The must haves:

  • Minimum Diploma degree, preferably in any Management or Communications course

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Topline and Detailed Reporting on Partnerships
  • Excel and PowerPoint
  • At least 7 years of experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, Solutioning or Partnerships Development
  • At least 1 year of experience in Marketing and Campaign Development/Execution
  • At least 1 year of experience in Strategy and Roadmapping
  • Experience in working for a tech startup is a plus
  • Experience in the transport sector is a plus

  • A team player who works effectively across all levels of the organization
