• Manages a regular (usually monthly) forecasting process at both the detail and aggregated level
• Ensures data integrity and quality by reviewing data, identifying unusual occurrences, seeking explanations and assisting in developing corrections to prevent reoccurrences
• Initially reviews and analyses forecast results in relation to business direction
• …Identifies product or market trends
• …Provides Business Managers with observations of forecast directions
• …Reports on Channel or Product Family comparisons with Budget
• …Assists Sales & Marketing team with development of Promotional and Major Event plans
• …Produces the integrated unconstrained Demand Plan with Historical Sales, Promotions, Major Events, New Stores and New Products, out 12 to 18 months
• Establishes and maintains forecast performance measurement and drives continuous process improvement
• Co-ordinates with Business Managers to ensure the forecasting process is completed on-time to meet the input requirements of the Supply Review in the S&OP monthly cycle
• Assists in developing strategies, policies, objectives in areas of S&OP, replenishment planning, inventory management
• Performance in the role is enhanced by having experience within the organization.
• Knowledge of the product range and ‘product position’ in the market.
• Experience in a retail environment with an appreciation of the supply chains associated with different channels and product categories.
• An understanding of the formal and informal operational structure of the organisation helps with credibility and improves communication.
• Strong communication and influencing skills
