Head of Legal and Compliance

A fast growing investment banker is looking for a Head of Legal and Compliance to be based in its head office in Ho Chi Minh City.

About the Head of Legal and Compliance Role:

In this position, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the interests of the company are legally protected and vested in at all times and to ensure overall compliance of the company's activities with internal policies and relevant regulatory requirements. Based in HCMC, you will be reporting to Regional Head of Legal and Compliance and dotted line to the Vietnam's CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and law/regulations updates related to company's businesses. Provide training and frequent support to help businesses understand and comply with new changes in laws and regulations
• Draft, review and revise legal agreements, contracts related to the company's businesses
• Support in new investment product development in terms of risk advisory and legal documentations
• Report and response to regulators and the company's supervisory board on compliance matters and regulation changes
• Perform compliance reviews and monitor activities. Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and coordinate with relevant departments to develop/implement corrective actions
• Liaise with external counsels on important matters and litigation

To succeed in this role, you must possess strong experience as a legal advisor for reputable law firms or financial service organisation in managerial positions.

Key Requirements:

• Vietnamese qualified lawyer
• Minimum 7 years of experience, of which 2 years are in managerial position
• Prior experience in law firms, banks, investment funds, securities companies are highly preferable
• Solid understand about financial markets and products
• Excellent English command
• Strong managerial, interpersonal and project management skills
