In this role you will coordinate the maintenance, design and development of server infrastructure, perform and manage tap library functions such as daily scratch pulls, vaulting, out-of-house tape shipping and receiving, and other general library management activities. You will also manage data restore by performing daily incremental backup and weekly full backup. Apart of this, you are responsible in administer and managing the email system and ensure systems and servers are optimized in the data center environment.
• Perform systems checks and reboots as part of scheduled and unscheduled activities.
• Order and procure equipment and parts necessary for installations in advance.
• Ensure proper logging of activities per site as designated by defined Standard Operation Procedures and policies.
• Perform all tape management services to include adhering to scheduled tape swapping schedules and placing tapes in designated repositories for pick up by offsite storage vendor.
• Manage data restore by performing daily incremental backup and weekly full backup.
• Perform tape library functions to include, but not limited to, daily scratch pulls, vaulting, out-of-house tape shipping and receiving, and other general library management activities.
• Maintain Exchange email system, monitor Exchange System performance and mail routing and software configuration baseline data and documentation.
• Proactively and efficiently administer AD Services using enterprise toolsets such as Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM), and System Center Operations Manager.
• Perform daily tasks to ensure the stability and optimization of the server environment, which includes proactively identifying potential system issues before they become a problem, working with team members in deciding a resolution, and implementing the agreed upon resolutions.
• Responsible for maintenance of the operating systems on all servers, monitoring system usage and performance, patching, management of backup and recovery of the operating system and third-party applications, file-system management, process automation, server installation/configuration, and third-party application support including installations and configurations.
• Support and software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain inventory and access lists.
• Decommission disposals and transfers of hardware and software services.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a Data Center environment, enterprise class network, Information Management, or support of a client/server environment.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in Library/media management activities required.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Exchange administration and troubleshooting in a large enterprise organization.
• Working experience with virtualization technologies like VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix.
• Excellent knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012 and associated platform(s) and/or tools.
• Strong experience with HPE Technologies related to storage management.
• Strong ability to write PowerShell scripts to perform routine tasks as well as collect data to analyze problems.
• Experience with troubleshooting mail flow processes.
• Possess System Administrator knowledge of Windows Server series.
• In depth knowledge and hands on experience with the following technologies: Exchange 2010 and 2013 EMC and EMS, Active Directory, tools (PowerShell, ADUC, ADSIEdit), multi-site Exchange DAG deployment, SMTP mail flow/routing and Microsoft Outlook.
• Good knowledge in Microsoft clustering.
• Detailed knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle database technology.
• Detailed knowledge of SAP ECC6 and SAP HANA.
Education Qualification Requirement
• BSc. in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related major; or equivalent business experience.
Professional Certification Requirement
• Must possess a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification in Server Infrastructure or Messaging or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification in Windows Server or Exchange Server path.
• Microsoft MCITP or MCSE or MCSA certifications, and any the following: SQL DBA, VMware is an advantage.
