Successful candidates will bring a dynamic combination of IQ and EQ, an ability to think strategically and execute tactically, and strong interpersonal skills to maximize value in partnership negotiations & implementations. Someone who brings hustle in spades and isn’t afraid to manage multiple deals in a high-pressure, high-stakes environment. Essentially, a business athlete with ambition and drive, capable of building partnerships to support a variety of high-priority Uber initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead end-to-end deal processes: strategy, sourcing, analysis, negotiation, and implementation, with significant autonomy

    • Significantly supports the same activities for complex deals

  • Your regional focus will be on Southeast but will require you to have a deep understanding of the food-tech ecosystem and beyond

  • Develop and manage necessary business relationships internally and externally at the project team level

  • Bring your analytical A-game. You’ll be building business models, performing analysis to understand trends, provide actionable insights, and track productivity and success of initiatives to ensure we’re driving toward the best possible outcome

  • Drive initiatives. You will drive and support key initiatives across our business teams to grow strategic and long term opportunities with our various partners. This involves wearing many hats and jumping in to help your teammates when the needs arise.

What you’ll need:

  • 7 years+ of Business Development, strategic partnerships or alliances, but we will consider candidates with less experience if they meet our other requirements

  • High throughput. Your strong bias towards action helped you earn the reputation of someone who gets things done. You love having a lot on your plate and get energy from being busy.

  • The athlete’s mentality. You’re an all around player, flexing and stretching your analytical prowess, pitching in as needed but also knowing when to take control and lead a conversation be it with an engineer, a product manager, or a C-level executive.

  • Excellent judgment, positive attitude, hustle, demonstrated a history of success

  • Strong interpersonal skills which allow you to build trust and negotiate hard with partners, and adeptly manage the cross-functional coordination (product, local operations, engineering, finance, legal) required to implement deals

  • Adept at building and delivering presentations

  • Preferably experience from a Tech Company’s BD team. Southeast Asia experience or Food-tech experience a plus
