Get to know the Role:

  • Build, lead and operate a business vertical focusing on sales, sales operations and driver loyalty and retention function in a dynamic and highly competitive environment

The day-to-day activities:

  • Work with Country Head to set business targets and allocate budget

  • Plan and execute business and operations plan within assigned budget

  • Plan and execute driver acquisition and retention initiatives

  • Accountable for business vertical targets, budget and P&L

  • Optimise driver spend

  • Responsible for maintaining driver service quality and enforcing driver code of conduct

  • Build and maintain relationships with various partners in the transportations ecosystem (ie. fleet owners, government, associations, supplier, contractors)

  • Collaborate with other Grab leaders (including other Business Vertical Heads, Product, Engineering, Data, User Trust, Legal, Public Affairs, etc) to address issues, identify new opportunities and share best practices.

  • Develop win-win partnerships

  • Build and maintain government relationships

  • Be the spokesperson for the business vertical; This includes attending media events, interviews and fielding both online & offline media questions

  • Identify and optimise driver segments for allocation

  • Optimise driver performance

  • Plan and execute driver loyalty initiatives

  • Collaborate with Country Head and Marketing Head to achieve overall business objectives

  • Accountable for business vertical financial targets, including revenue, cost and profits

  • Work with Finance team to track actuals vs target, analyze and identify opportunities from financial statements

  • Build, lead and coach sales, loyalty and retention and sales administration teams

  • Build a culture that strongly aligns with Grab’s Vision, Mission and Principles

  • Be a servant leader; Lead by example

The must haves:

  • Minimum 6 years of work experience with 3 years in a managerial capacity

  • Prior experience in management consulting, general management, investment banking, sales, pre-sales, business development, sales operations roles preferred

  • Experience in working in a start-up / fast-paced environment

  • MBA degree preferred

  • Familiar with Spin Selling, Basho, Creating Client Value (CCV) or other similar sales frameworks

  • Prepared and able to provide high-level directions as well as be hands on when the situation calls for it

  • Adaptable; Enjoys working in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment

  • Strong motivator and collaborator; Able to align large groups of people towards a particular goal

  • Proven experience in developing strategies, and translating said strategies into tangible outcomes

  • Able to initiate and maintain strong relationships with relevant industry partners, suppliers and contractors

  • Excellent leadership, management, problem solving, negotiations, interpersonal, and communications skills

  • Strong planning, execution and coordination skills
