Get to know the Role:
You will be responsible for identifying potential improvement areas, provide solutions, implement, and evaluate the result. An immersive understanding of the business processes and the ability to generate functional solutions are key success factors for this role. The ideal candidate would have a mixed of strategy and operations background and would be an amalgamation of growth hacker and tinkerer with an entrepreneurial mindset.
The day-to-day activities:
80% Business Process Improvements:
- Identify operational pain points; devise and execute process improvement opportunities. Must ensure that processes are well structured and optimized given limited resources.
- Collaborate closely with other cross-functional teams to drive process re-engineering
- Facilitate the deployment of systems, solutions and business processes within the organization
- Ensure strict adherence to project / launch timelines
- Deep understanding of metrics that drive operational excellence on our platform
20% Strategy:
- Generate strong analytical and data-driven insights for proof of concepts for projects as well as post-implementation assessment
- Come up with ideas, experiment and drive them to meaningful results or learn from failures to create the next big idea.
- Support business teams at various stages; for example, providing a fact base, structuring and helping with issue identification and solutioning, advising on the practicalities of implementation or leading actual execution
- Support top management in performing analyses to enable data driven decision making
The must haves:
- 3-5 years of experience of start up, management consulting or operations background is preferred
- Familiarity with spreadsheets, business planning, financial modelling, process mapping, and project management tools
- Structured thought process and a strong analytical ability with operational execution
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively network within the industry and the overall Grab business
- Self-starter and independent learner focused on finding solutions
- Ambitious, self-driven and highly motivated individual who can work well in a startup VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment. Should have a deep desire to excel and develop a career in a fast growing tech company. Should have demonstrated integrity and respect in the performance of their duties.
- Highly entrepreneurial with a good understanding of the Singapore F&B industry
- Good to have: certification in Six Sigma, LEAN, Agile, PMP practices
- Experience in VBA macro, SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages is a plus
