As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) you will help out on problems reported by everyone and provide the best product for our customers. You see real impact to people and feel proud to be part of the team that improves the lives of others.
You will :
- Learn and influence the fundamentals of engineering and testing at Grab
- Relentless focus on delivering efficient tests
- Monitor systems to make sure there is no disruption in our services
The day-to-day activities:
- Provide functional and regression level testing for API, iOS, Android and Web Applications.
- Develop and execute automated functional and regression test cases and maintain automated Test Scripts.
- Work closely with engineers, test leads, product owners and team members to identify areas and methods to help drive testing efficiencies and expand test coverage and increase product reliability.
- Provide test estimates, record, track and report defects to depict the status of the sprint and/or system stability.
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
The must-haves:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields
- 4-8 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
- Possess a deep understanding of SQA methodologies and practices
- Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
- You can be a good coder in any language (C++, C, Java, Scala, Rust, Haskell, OCaml, Erlang, Python, Ruby, PHP, Node.JS, C# etc.), but willing to work on Golang
- Experienced with testing APIs, Mobile apps, Web applications, APIs and UIs
- Develops Methods to automate Gherkin Syntax identified
- Hands-on experience with Behavior Driven Frameworks (BDD), Selenium cucumber, Jbehave Serenity
- Experience with CI/CD
- Experience with test frameworks: REST- Assured, JUnit, and TestNG
- Experience with SQL experience
- Maintains Page Object Model Framework for all products supported
- Continuously refactors Methods and Page Object Models to drive further testing efficiencies
- Identifies and manages all test data required for testing
- Should be familiar with Agile/Scrum
Nice to have
- Understanding of distributed systems and network protocols
- Familiar with Cloud service providers: AWS, Azure.
- Exposure to Elastic Search, MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Kafka, Redis, Terraform, Docker, Gitlab, Jenkins, LUA
- Familiarity with running large scale microservices services
- Understanding of system performance and scaling
- Possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, able to think critically of the current system in terms of stability
