Senior Manager - Regional Operations

Team Description :

Regional Operations is a newly established function with the mission of helping the countries be more successful. The country operations team report into this function.

We support countries to accelerate growth, enhance operational performance and efficiency. We focus on driver supply, NPS, tactics to optimise spend, study passenger demand and ensure tight integration between incentives, promotional spend and defined ROI metrics. We also support with senior leader engagement, country strategy, organisation design, service expansion and sharing of best practices across Grab.

Role Purpose :

• Your primary purpose is to support the growth and efficiency of Grab's country operations. Using your influencing skills, together with data analysis and creativity in “getting stuff done”, you will be able to drive through improvements and positively collaborate with country teams across the region.

• You are expected to be familiar with daily operational metrics covering Grab’s transport business, and related financial metrics. Successful candidates will be able to map these metrics to operational action plans for improvements, innovations or changes implemented for repeatable success.

• Content areas covered include in-country strategy and project implementation, oversight of costs, budgets and investment areas & support with management reporting and organisation design.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with and support Country Head and reporting teams to assess resource requirements for funding and tech support, and ensure alignment with approved budgets or strategic priorities

• Operationalise “platform efficiency” programs to ensure rigour around incentives and promo spending:

  • Are we spending intelligently?

  • Have we modelled scenarios properly?

  • Are we leveraging analytics and data science teams to determine satisfactory ROI on spend?

• Share knowledge across the markets on product launches

• Support with large product implementations and roll outs may also be expected on an ad-hoc basis

• Support Country Head to interview and assess candidates for fit to key country leadership vacancies, and provide inputs with organization structure and design

• Mentoring and coaching of some staff/teams in-country

• Supporting the countries with market share and PPR goals

Requirements :

• The ideal candidate will have experience managing a P&L either in a single business unit or product vertical, or in a general management capacity

• The ideal candidate will also have managed a small team

• Financial modelling and business case development

• Presentation skills, familiarity with presentation tools and storyline development

• Operations experience ideally from logistics, distribution, FMCG or internet marketplace businesses
