Senior/Lead Site Reliability Engineer

The SRE team is responsible for getting things to production in the most efficient and fastest way possible. We architect solutions, tools and platforms around provisioning, configuration, CICD, monitoring, SLA, performance and uptime. Our team is passionate about the details and we work very closely with a wide range of stakeholders.

Get to know the Role:

- Design and implement the architecture of next generation of automated infrastructure following Infrastructure as a Code model.

- Identify and resolve problems relating to critical service operations and to prevent their recurrence using different methods of automation

- Be involved in change, release and incident management

- Help improve reliability, stability and tackle scalability challenges with engineering teams

- Mentor other engineers, define our technical culture, and help build a fast-growing team

The day-to-day activities:

- Devise & implement solutions which will stop problems which are yet to happen (prevention is better than cure!)

- Everything as a code - if anything was done manually - find out the reason and fix it to ensure its never ever done manually again.

- Identify and resolve problems relating to critical service operations and to prevent their recurrence using different methods of automation

- Be involved in the design and subsequent implementation of software and service infrastructure

- Mentor other engineers, define our technical culture, and help build a fast-growing team

The must haves:

- Preferably a degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields

- 8 years of relevant experience with managing IT infrastructure with focus on the *nix platforms

- Possess a solid understanding of the Linux or FreeBSD/OpenBSD family of Operating Systems and their underlying components

- Possess analytical skills, mental resiliency and the ability to think systematically under stressful conditions

- Highly accountable and takes ownership. Outstanding work ethic, high-integrity, team player, and a lifelong learner

- Experience in one or more of: C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting experience in Shell

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively across the organization.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with cloud computing technologies from vendors such as Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, Digital Ocean

- Configuration management tool experience such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet or SaltStack

- Experience with continuous integration and/or continuous deployment

- Experience with hardening systems and knowledge in information security

- Contributes to open source project Experience with performance analysis and debugging tools
