The Product Analytics team’s mission is to advance product innovation with analytics and experimentation best practices. We ship a large number of features every week and that means tuning models, evaluating changes and running hundreds of experiments weekly. We are looking for an experienced data scientist to build a center of data excellence for Product & experimentation in the electric micro-mobility industry. Your role is to help product teams be more data-driven, objective and provide guidance for design of controlled experiments. You will help developers, designers & product managers across the company with recommendations on how to learn from unexpected results, study underlying causes for them and iterate on the next set of products to build for our users.

Get to know the Role:

  • Consult with cross-functional teams about their needs and generate data-driven hypotheses to solve key Product / Business problems
  • Collaborate with Business, Product and Technology teams to design and deliver analytical projects that support the Product roadmap
  • Develop standardized reporting and analysis to understand and monitor user interactions and experience on the GrabWheels platform

The day-to-day activities:

  • Mine large amounts of clickstream and transactional data to develop a deep understanding of GrabWheels users - including riders, internal Ops partners and external parking lots partners.
  • Own and manage all instrumentation for clickstream events on the Product, across GrabWheels
  • Own the prerogative for insight generation and support rapid prototyping within the Product function. This includes working closely with Product Managers and Product Researchers to see through analytics projects / product interventions from start to finish
  • Design, measure and recommend A/B tests and multivariate experiments on the platform, including, but not limited to layout optimization, page level testing, UI/UX efficacy, contextualization, algorithm effectiveness, API effectiveness, etc.

The must haves:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Product Analytics, Business Intelligence or a Data Science role, preferably in an Internet or 'Direct to Consumer' company.
  • Prior experience with Product management will be a definite plus
  • Design and analyze large-scale experiments to optimize regional user growth, engagement and value
  • Previous experimentation and relevant statistics knowledge (e.g. causal inference, hypothesis testing, regression, etc.) and tools (e.g. R, Python, etc)
  • Advanced SQL writing skills and experience in querying large relational databases
  • Strong data visualization skills. Experience in creating dashboard reporting in Tableau or a similar visualization tool is a plus.
  • Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly with cross-functional teams to execute on decisions while maintaining attention to detail
