Get to know the Role:

You are a highly motivated individual with a passion for data and how it can be a powerful tool to gain consumer insight and drive business objectives.

You will be responsible for extracting customers’ data from various databases, create and test hypotheses through surveys and other research methods. You will support the Research and Analytics Manager to uncover insights with business value and recommend action plans across all of Grab’s business verticals – GrabCar, GrabFood, GrabExpress, GrabRewards, GrabPay.


The day-to-day activities:

  • Extracting data and perform in-depth data analysis to uncover insights on products and consumers
  • Executing and setting up research (qualitative/quantitative) to drive understanding of consumer behaviour
  • Performing ad hoc surveys and studies to support new business growth opportunities
  • Measuring the effectiveness of marketing activities by performing detailed post mortems
  • Working with various stakeholders to understand the objective and marketing problems and providing solution with accurate data points and measurement methods.
  • Working with external research agencies to set clear objectives and structure research questions with a view of creating actionable outputs
  • Build and manage a relationship with internal business partners and research agencies
  • Work within set research budget
  • Works well and support all Marketing team requirements in terms of data analytics, market research and numbers reporting.

The must haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably with a focus on Mathematics/Statistics, Finance, Economics with interest in Marketing.
  • MS Excel (highly proficient)
  • MS Powerpoint

---- Plus, but not required ---

  • SQL programming
  • Business Intelligence and Data Management Tools (e.g. Holistics and Tableau) would be an added advantage
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in quantitative analytics and reporting; Experience conducting basic market research/survey will be a plus point.
  • Strong problem definition and solution skills, combined with an intellectual curiosity and love of learning
  • Highly resourceful with strong project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and deliver on multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical skills – experience/exposure to business intelligence and data management tools such as Holistics and Tableau will be added advantage
