Mô tả công việc

Senior Category Manager would be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of a specific product category within their retail network. This includes product selection, pricing, promotion, and inventory management, with the goal of maximizing sales and profitability. They would also be involved in developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and staying abreast of market trends.

  • Category Strategy Development: Define and implement the overall strategy for a specific product category (e.g., skincare, vitamins, baby care) in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Product Selection and Management:Curate a product assortment that is relevant to the target customer, competitive, and profitable. This includes selecting new products, managing existing SKUs, and phasing out underperforming items.
  • Pricing and Promotion: Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability, while also creating promotional plans to drive traffic and increase revenue.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock and waste. This includes forecasting demand, managing stock levels, and working with the supply chain team.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring timely delivery of products.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Financial Management: Contribute to the development of the category budget and manage expenses to achieve financial targets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the category, such as sales, gross margin, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: May manage a team of category managers or analysts, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.

Yêu cầu công việc

  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA with over 10 years’ experience in Retail or Retail Pharmaceutical.
  • Experience: Significant experience in retail category management, ideally within the pharmaceutical or health and beauty industry.
  • Product Knowledge: A strong understanding of the assigned product category, including market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve common goals.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of retail business principles, including pricing, promotion, inventory management, and financial analysis.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute category strategies that align with the overall business objectives
