Regional Operations Lead (Safety)

Get to know our Team:

Grab’s Security and Safety team supports the organization across multiple geographies and business units. We plan, execute and enforce policies and standards to ensure the security of our people, facilities and other key assets, both physical and informational. We are responsible for all safety-related aspects of the platform, through continual development and innovation to the business processes, policies and products. We also help influence the overall strategic direction of the company by supporting the top management with safety insights and advisory.

If being constantly on the move and problem solving excite you, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will work on multi-dimensional projects, with our regional teams, and external partners to tackle real-time issues.

Get to know the Role:

• Steer leadership and management teams along the organization’s safety mission and principles;

• Develop and implement a strategy to steer Grab’s safety efforts in food and other new areas;

• Develop internal and external user safety policies and processes for food and other new areas;

The day-to-day activities:

• Understand the respective country’s business objectives and assist the country safety managers to provide safety advisory and solutioning;

• Work with the regional safety office to identify safety features for implementation on the app

• Actively monitor the safety KPIs within the region and develop early preventive measures;

• Lead the respective country safety teams to identify a safety audit roadmap premising on industry best practices and recommendations from safety accreditation bodies;

• Develop safety training content and programs targeted at driver partners;

• Be a passionate advocate for safety for all our customers

The must haves:

• Minimally bachelor's degree - 6+ years of experience;

• An analytical mindset with ability to present and execute on actionable findings;

• Critically understand quantitative and qualitative patterns that are associated with safety trends;

• An ability to develop a variety of complex policies and procedures with minimal guidance to prevent and mitigate safety risks;

• Strategic mindset in thinking about the bigger picture and how we can improve as a company;

• Proven conflict resolution skills;

• Possess excellent problem solving/decision making, communication and interpersonal skills;

• A strong judgment and moral compass;

• Executive presence to be able to influence leaders across the organization;

• An ability to work cross-functionally, independently or virtually in a minimally structured and fast-paced environment;

• Self-motivated to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines;

• Be traveling on a regular and/or ad hoc basis (expect more than 5 days per month);

• Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Solid spoken and written communication skills

• Proficiency with Tableau a plus

• Direct experience with food safety a plus

• Experience in engaging across Asian markets and cultures;

• Start-up experience a plus;

• Stay current on industry and governmental regulations, and develop strong relationships with law enforcement, government or private sector counterparts;

• Existing network of private and public sector contacts.
