Job Summary
CJ Foods Vietnam is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven R&D Manager to lead the development and execution of the Noodle Category strategy, from ideation to commercialization. This role will take ownership of building the category from the ground up, ensuring that product innovation is aligned with consumer insights, market trends, and business objectives. The R&D Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong leadership to drive product excellence, innovation, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Category Development & Innovation:
Lead end-to-end R&D initiatives for the noodle category, from product concept to commercialization.
Identify white spaces and consumer opportunities to shape the category roadmap.
Conduct competitive benchmarking and apply insights to localize and differentiate CJ noodle offerings.
Ensure product concepts are aligned with consumer preferences, market demands, and CJ’s brand strategy.
2. Project & Process Management:
Drive and manage multiple R&D projects with clear milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
Oversee recipe development, prototype testing, sensory evaluation, and process trials.
Ensure alignment with quality standards, cost targets, and production feasibility.
Maintain technical documentation, specifications, and R&D records.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Marketing, QA/QC, SCM, and Sales teams to ensure successful product development and launches.
Support regulatory compliance and documentation in partnership with relevant teams.
Coordinate with regional/global CJ teams (if applicable) to localize or transfer technology.
4. Leadership & Team Development:
Provide direction, motivation, and guidance to junior R&D team members or cross-functional project contributors.
Foster a collaborative and innovation-driven team culture.
Build internal capabilities through knowledge sharing and coaching.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
Experience: From 6 to 8 years of working experience in human resources related field/ possess experiences field of FMCG, MMC are plus.
Skills:
English ability: strong in reading and speaking.
Good computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
Experience in leading, mentoring, and managing an R&D team to drive productivity and innovation
Good knowledge and expertise about culinary, production process and sensory evaluation etc.
Proficiency in using project management tools and methodologies
