About Open APIs Team
Open APIs team goal is to design high-quality, long-lasting APIs to provide a seamless open platform, that can open Tiki for external business partners to use via third-party applications or direct integration in order to grow their business.
Being a product leader for open APIs, apart from the experience of building a regular product, you will need an additional dash of technical acumen and developer savvy - to enable easier integrations, more developer happiness, and better expressions of business value for everyone involved. You will have the important role of optimizing developer experience, as well as managing the API Product roadmap, which brings great value to the APIs. You will need to separate what you are helping your target audience achieve (the capabilities) vs. the features that help get them there (the API endpoints).
What you will do?
- Identify business needs to be addressed by an API, prepare API product roadmap, work with the developers to specify the APIs, set the terms and conditions for accessing the API (rate limits/security/monetization) and market (communicate) the API to the intended audience
- Own performance and all communication - uptime dashboard/SLA, change log / release notes, roadmaps, support and feedback channels. Work closely with the technical writers in the creation of an API’s documentation. Define the KPIs, measurement criteria, and QA process.
- Think strategically and creatively to gather insights and help refine the product vision and metrics based on product data and user research.
- Ensure business and technical stakeholder needs are aligned by driving mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams and work with go-to-market stakeholders
What you will need?
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or analytical discipline
- 5+ years product management experience in APIs and integrations
- Experience in decoupled microservices that provide functionality via RESTful APIs with a JSON payload
- Experience in Digital Services / Financial Services product integrations
- Familiarity with open-source API standards and solutions, API definition formats
- Prior programming experience or deep understanding of the developer audience
- Strong sense of ownership and Strong cross-team communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and Data driven mind-set
- Comfortable with handling ambiguity and willingness to keep learning
