Job Description
As a young and hyper-growing organisation, we are looking to hire a Manager to lead the People Operations (aka Human Resources) in Taiwan.
We care about people and results. We tend to lose sleep over them as this is hyper not easy.
We are looking for a resourceful, go-getting and hungry to learn People Operations team mate. You will be working closely with our Tech client group, attracting, hiring and developing talents, formulating people solutions and driving initiatives that really matter.
This role covers full spectrum of HR, manages the day-to-day People Operations function in Taiwan. Primary scope include hiring, on-boarding, employee relations, HR operations and process incl. payroll, compensation & benefit, retention, performance management, learning & development. Though not directly responsible for talent acquisition, you are expected to collaborate with talent acquisition team and be the country PIC to ensure the best talent is identified, hired, on-boarded and retained to meet the business requirements.
You will play an active role in creating and implementing strategies and programs in support of both short and long-term business objectives. This role is integral to supporting our employees and aids in fostering a proactive, mission first, high performance culture. Based in Taiwan, you report and work directly with the Head of People & Business Partner for Tech. who is based in Singapore.
Responsibilities
People Strategy development and deployment
Expected to work with regional People Operations team to develop and deploy the broader People strategy
Responsible for guiding and implementing strategic and tactical people initiatives aligned to business’ objectives - including and not limited to integrating Workday implementation with existing people operations, implementing Payroll outsourcing, and other people systems/projects
Deliver effective People Operations services
Actively provide advance-level support and internal consulting to managers and leads
Build relationships with managers and leads at all levels and ensure responsive People services are provided
Deliver efficient and effective on-boarding experience for new hires
Manage the payroll and benefits administration to ensure accurate payroll and timely payment
Manage salary review and bonus review and payout cycles with the Regional Rewards team
Policies, Procedures and Legislation
Develop and then maintain the employee handbook through regular reviews and update where necessary, especially where there are legislation changes
Update and prepare Regional People Operations and country management team on key people related legislation changes
Regular review to simplify processes and communicate changes in a timely and transparent manner to stakeholders
Performance Management
Manage and collaborate with Business Partners and Regional Organizational Development team in bi-annual Performance Management cycles
Drive and provide guidance, advice and training to managers on managing performance issues at all levels
Talent Management and Retention
Deploy on-boarding & assimilation programs and obtain necessary work visas for diverse workforce
Develop and deploy employee engagement and culture building initiatives, and implement retention strategies
Identify learning needs and assist managers with the selection and contracting of relevant external training programs
Employee Relations
Manage disputes and grievances effectively
Management of exits, including conducting of exit interviews to reduce regret attrition
Key Requirements
7+ years in HR Generalist and/or HR Business Partner position
Understand and familiar with HR function set-up, governance and implementation
Solid knowledge of employment law in Taiwan.
Knowledge of M&A and/or HR Transformation is a plus point
Good command in English
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and team effectively at all levels
Demonstrated competence in organizational development, coaching, compensation, and employee relations
Deep professional and functional experience in at least one or several areas including Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits and/or Learning & Development
Track record coaching leaders and advising action in sensitive or ambiguous situations, including employee relations, performance management, or organizational diagnostics
Care deeply to find creative solutions to shape and elevate the employee experience
Results oriented and ‘hands on’
Highly organized, able to work independently
Able to thrive in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) environment
Self motivated, self confident, stress resistant
Technologically savvy
Knowledge and/or experience of WorkDay is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related area is good to have, but not a must
