The Opportunity
In this role you will report to Network and Security Team Lead and responsible for the design, installation, analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance of information technology network infrastructure. Apart of this, you will provide cyber threat indication warnings and trends and perform assessments of malicious or suspicious activities to determine potential security risks.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
• Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.
• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
• Measure and diagnose network performance using network monitoring tools.
• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
• Perform security assessment and configuration, IT security event monitoring, and IT security incident management.
• Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to deploying, implementing, and supporting a variety of network security solutions.
• Perform routine cyber-security monitoring tasks for Active Directory, network and firewalls; provide first response to security alerts performing analysis and if possible, a resolution. Escalate to team members as needed.
• Perform control and vulnerability assessments to identify control weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommends remedial action. Research and assess new threats and security alerts and recommends remedial actions.
• Conduct troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.
• Conduct fault management for the network and supports performance.
• Configure and manage routers, switches & firewalls.
• Assist with analyzing system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacity.
• Supervise work conducted by third party vendor.
• Maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration and appropriate use.
• Maintain logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
• Execute reporting functions and data input associated with network management.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience of network administration / engineer experience within a data center is required.
• Experience in networking, cabling, and server support.
• Experience with equipment/device installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting including experience of reviewing, evaluating, and calibrating components such as switches, routers, firewall, IDS, load balancers, cabling systems, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network connectivity.
• Manage servers through a network monitoring program.
• Experience with intrusion detection, incident response, and forensics.
• Experience with performing penetration tests and understand of “attacker” and cyber security methodologies and tactics.
• Knowledge of network protocols (CoS, PoE, NTP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP), network management protocols (CDP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols. (SSH, HTTPS/SSL, AAA, IPSec)
• Working knowledge with IP communication and routing. (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
• Good working knowledge of WAN/LAN and transport technologies. (Ethernet, MPLS, TDM circuits)
• Have working experience within multi-vendor environment. (e.g. Cisco, HPE, Fortinet and etc)
• Experience analyzing network utilization statistics through data collection and performance measures to identify problems and solutions to ensure smooth, reliable, and robust network operation.
• Experience with Cisco wireless.
• Experience with Checkpoint security appliances.
Education Qualification Requirement
• BSc. in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related major; or equivalent business experience.
Professional Certification Requirement
• Industry Certification desirable - CCNA or above.
