Manager, Systems Audit

Get to know the Role:
The primary functions of an systems audit are to evaluate the systems that are in place to guard an organization's information. Specifically, information technology audits are used to evaluate the organization's ability to protect its information assets and to properly dispense information to authorized parties. IT audit managers are responsible for monitoring IT systems to ensure they follow policies and practices. They must evaluate technology, manage staff, identify controls, and keep records.

The day-to-day activities:
● Advise and provide recommendations to stakeholders on risk and control issues, process improvement and compliance measures;

● Teach, train and coach staff;

● The position holder is likely to be called upon to be a team member or team leader on various special projects requiring analytical and risk assessment skills;

● Stay abreast of best practices both internally and externally and provide conduit for introducing those practices to the company; Contribute to the maintenance of IT risk assessments;

The must haves:
Minimum Qualifications

● University degree and relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CA, CPA, CISA, CISSP and CISM)

● 8+ years of relevant experience, with proven record in performing systems and IT related control evaluation and risk assessment in sizeable or multinational companies

● Outstanding stakeholder Engagement and Management Skills, a lot of the role will require consulting and advising to internal customers

● Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills in English

● Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and can work under pressure

● Orientation to “roll up your sleeves” to do what it takes to meet commitments.

● Willingness to expand range of responsibilities as needed based on the evolution of the company and the role.

● Ability to manage the System audit function in the region semi-autonomously including planning, audit execution and administratively

● Be traveling on a regular and/or ad hoc basis (expect more than 5 days per month);

Technical Skills

● Experience in systems/IT audit, cloud computing, IT security & vulnerability assessments, source code review and penetration testing.

● Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Solid spoken and written communication skills;

Specific experience

● Start-up experience a plus; Overall experience

● Stay current on industry standards, and develop strong relationships with private sector counterparts;

● Existing network of private and public sector contacts.
