Head of Data, Digibank SG

We want to build a digital bank on the right foundation - using data, tech and trust to solve problems and serve customers. If you believe you have what it takes to be at the forefront of innovation to build this new Digibank with us, We have recently applied for a digital full banking license in Singapore as part of a consortium together with Singapore Telecommunications (Grab 60%, Singtel 40%).  This role will be based in Singapore, reporting into the CTO of Digibank. This individual will also work closely with the data and engineering team at Grab Financial Group.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership in how the company collects, manages and handles data efficiently and securely to facilitate the making of data driven decisions. 

• Build and manage all data pertaining to Digibank, both with respect to scale and consumption, using open source big data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, HDFS and similar. 

• Design and deliver next-gen ingestion and consumption frameworks on the top of data lake.

• Work closely with Grab’s technology group and provide guidance and support for areas around data strategy such as retention and lineage. 

• Liaise closely with various business and functions in establishing the best practices and 

• lead data related solutioning discussions.

• Drive data monetization through designing and implementing self-service analytics through frameworks and approach patterns, on top of the data lake.

• Work with our external partners, across product and services, in cementing the gaps in our product/platform offering as well as influence their feature and support roadmaps 

• Lead, manage, motivate and mentor a team of data engineering, data platform, data science  and data analysts. 

What We Are Looking For:

• 12+ years of experience related to data engineering and building data platforms in a high-scale, rapidly growing environment. 

• Minimum 5+ years of leadership and team management experience.  

• Familiar with third party data integrations. 

• Specific domain experience in the financial technology space is valuable. 

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Singapore/Southeast Asian work experience is a plus.
