About the role:

The Communications team is responsible for telling the Grab story around the world. Whether it's speaking to media and online influencers, industry commentators, thought leaders or the wider community, the Communications team is the voice of Grab.

The Head of Communications in Indonesia will drive Grab’s growth by promoting and protecting its brand and reputation. The goal is to underline Grab’s position as the leading online-to-offline mobile platform in Indonesia, and make Grab a more relatable brand to our customers. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a high‐growth start-up operating in a fast‐paced and dynamic global industry.

Responsibility:

  • Lead Indonesia Communications team on strategy and PR planning for Grab’s key business units
  • Lead team to set processes and drive impactful outcomes across functions such as corporate, consumer, tech & product, employer branding
  • Drive high impact media stories that shape understanding and raises profile of the Grab business amongst our stakeholders, including investor and business community, consumers and partners
  • Drive thought leadership for Grab executives, and build strong working relationships with Grab business stakeholders
  • Develop differentiated messaging and multi-format content around announcements for media and other relevant channels
  • Develop deep media relationships with key Indonesia media, organise regular updates and briefings, and represent Grab Indonesia as a spokesperson
  • Develop blog content strategy and drive content marketing efforts
  • Monitor and opportunistically leverage industry news
  • Manage media relations, issues management and KPI tracking, in partnership with PR agency (where applicable) according to budget and business requirements

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree (no preference in field)
  • Required: Corporate reputation management, media relations, issues management
  • Good-to-have: integrated communications
  • Excellent command of Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and spoken)
  • Internet sector and agency experience preferred
  • Existing relationships with editors at major Indonesia business and tech media
  • Experience managing pan-Indonesia Communications programme
  • Experience working in a regional or global team in a fast-growth company
  • Hands-on, proactive and self-driver
  • Creative thinking and inherent drive and curiosity to push new angles and ideas
  • Manage Indonesia Communications team to achieve set KPIs, and ensure career development and growth
