Director – Retail Excellence

Tiki is seeking a Senior leader for building vendor and supply chain facing systems and processes that will help scale the retail/ 1 st Party business. This is a complex role requiring broad understanding of supplier systems and processes, internal business requirements, fulfillment process and functional processes such as inventory management, payment processing etc. You will converge business process understanding with technical capabilities to automate whatever can be automated throughout Tiki’s supply chain.

You will focus relentlessly on automation through tool and process development to improve business performance for processes such as inventory and buying decisions, vendor analytics and self-service etc. with the ultimate objective to improve decision making, reduce processing time and improve accuracy & reliability.

You will own the road-map for retail automation and tools and provide business requirement definition and design to product managers and software engineers to build these product/features. You will be work with category managers/leaders to utilize these features for improving business outcomes measurably.

The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter with a passion for building high accuracy and resiliency tools and systems using rule based programming as well ML and AI. You will have proven analytical capabilities, strong persuasive writing/story boarding skills, broad business experience, tenacity to develop ideas independently, and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive the businesses’ automation and tooling requirements from conceptualization through launch creating actionable plans, work streams and tactical plans
  • Define and manage the automation and tools roadmap & strategy, setting expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and continuously update the vision and roadmap for retail automation
  • Collaborate with technology teams, UX, product teams, and category partners to determine what features to move forward and in what priority order.
  • Ensure business and technical/product stakeholder needs are aligned by driving mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions.
  • Supervise/Direct/Write business/functional/system requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to business, supply chain and development teams.
  • Create plans that have clear, measurable success criteria.
  • Manage the execution of initiatives from idea through launch, while setting and managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
  • Partner with UX and market research to define good outcomes for qualitative testing, ensuring we are building the right experience for a diverse range of suppliers/vendors and users.
  • Define metrics for success and failure and analyze and create dashboards for key metrics.
  • Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility, ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management.
  • Demonstrated success in building complex, highly scalable systems
  • Exceptional storyboarding/writing skills.
  • Data-informed: Define metrics for success and failure; ability to use quantitative and qualitativedata to back up assumptions and make decisions.
  • Team player: Strong, demonstrated ability to rally and bring varying functional teams together,and break through stalled decision making. High emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated experience in agile, lean startup product management processes.
  • Sound business & strategy judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analyticalthinking skills are critical to success in this position.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and management skills. Over time, this position is expected tohire and lead a team.
  • Prior experience working with engineering teams preferred
