Get to know the Role:
Are you a NoSQL Database Engineer who is interested in designing data models in Cassandra? You can be part of Grab and get to work on and support one of the largest and fastest growing datasets of any company in South East Asia. We operate in a challenging, fast paced and ever changing environment that will push you to grow and learn.
The day-to-day activities:
- Install, configure and monitor NoSQL cluster in design data models in NoSQL database
- Perform database capacity planning and maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any database performance issues and employ measures to prevent recurrence
- Work with engineering and operations team in building tooling to drive scalability, reliability and performance
- Research and develop new technologies and approaches for building highly available data persistence systems
- Advice and support product, engineering, support and operation teams
- Participate in on-call rotations
The must haves:
- Preferably a degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields
- In depth knowledge of any NoSQL database is a must
- Experience with installing, configuring and monitoring NoSQL cluster in design data models in NoSQL database
- Experience in design data models in NoSQL database
- Experience in Performance tunning NoSQL cluster to optimize writes and reads
The good to haves:- In depth knowledge in Cassandra read, writes paths and internal architecture wll be a strong plus
- Experience in design data models in Cassandra and working with Cassandra Query Language (CQL)
- Experience in creating key spaces, tables and secondary indexes in Cassandra
- Experience in Performance tuning Apache Cassandra cluster to optimize writes and reads
- Troubleshoot read/write latency and timeout issues in CASSANDRA
- In depth knowledge of Apache Cassandra or Datastax Enterprise Cassandra is a big plus
- Datastax Cassandra Certificated is a big plus
