The Integrity Team acts as guardians and protectors of the community by monitoring and safeguarding the experience and safety of our customers. As Risk Analysts within Integrity, we explore creative ideas and complex data modelling to improve our capabilities to prevent and reduce risks and help keep our passengers and drivers safe in their journeys with us.

The work that we do and the problems that we solve in the Integrity Team is not just important to our users and our business, but is also immensely satisfying. Each day, we explore questions such as how do we catch the bad guys from gaming our system? How do we ensure that both our passengers and drivers are heading to the right location? How do we design a good incentive and promo scheme that encourages good behaviour? We worry about difficult situations so that our users and their loved ones sleep better at night.

As we expand into new territories and more people rely on us across Southeast Asia, we are looking for an excellent Risk Analyst Lead to join our Integrity Team and help combat the ever new and complex problems that we face as risks get more sophisticated. As the Risk Analyst Lead, you will develop a deep understanding of risks and controls with the use of data. You will lead the team in translating these insights into actionable recommendations to create a safer environment for Grab and its users.

The day-to-day activities:

• Lead and build a team of highly motivated analysts

• Coach, train, and guide the team to perform at an exceptional level and manage expectations with various stakeholders

• Develop and execute strategies and roadmaps to reduce risk, which includes planning resources, identifying analysis solutions, and establishing methods of risk control and mitigation

• Establish a deep behavioral understanding and insights of users, risk, and controls with the use of data

• Translate these insights into recommendations and actions to reduce exposure to risk

• Drive risk metrics by continuously evaluating current metrics and proposing new metrics based on emerging need

• Collaborate with various cross-functional groups such as Country Verticals and Country Risk teams to understand the business needs and to act upon the insights developed to solve complex problem statements

• Coordinate risk control efforts with Data Scientists, Product managers, Business Owners, and other key stakeholders in an efficient manner

• Anticipate future demands of risk reduction initiatives and design and implement solutions to meet those needs

• Keep abreast of industry news and trends and apply industry knowledge to interpret data and improve performance

The must haves:

• Degree or Professional Qualification in a related field

• At least 2 years of experience in leading a team or people management and 8+ years of experience in analytics

• Experience in statistics, data analytics, and data mining using SQL, Python, R or any data analysis tools

• Strong experience with metrics and reporting

• Experience in data visualisation using Tableau

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to both technical and business audiences, along with strong training and collaboration skills

• Exemplary problem solving and organizational abilities, with strong intuitions on how to solve problems creatively and quickly

• Detail-oriented and efficient time manager who is able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment

• Ability to understand and work with data scientists, product managers and engineers for algorithm and tech development

• Experience in making sound judgement calls when presented with difficult decisions, especially when only partial information is available

• Openness to travel within SEA

(Really) Nice to haves

• Experience in risk analytics

• Good understanding of the fraud space with hands-on knowledge of fraud, payments, and risk

• Proficiency in a local SEA language

• Working experience in a startup environment
