Grab’s Platform Safety team supports the organization across multiple geographies and business units. We are responsible for all safety-related aspects of the platform, through continual development and innovation to the business processes, policies and products. We also help influence the overall strategic direction of the company by supporting the top management with safety insights and advisory.
If being constantly on the move and problem solving excite you, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will work on multi-dimensional projects, with our regional teams, and external partners to tackle real-time issues.
Get to know the Role:
- Assist to steer leadership and management teams along the organization’s safety mission and principles;
- Define strategies to make a safer environment for motorcycle drivers and passengers, to improve drivers’ skills and behaviours, and to prevent incidents
The day-to-day activities:
- Steer leadership and management teams along the organization’s safety mission and principles;
- Implement internal and external user safety policies and processes;
- Develop overarching motorcycle riding safety strategies and management plans;
- Engage the product team to continually innovate on the safety features of app for motorcycle riders;
- Understand the respective country’s business objectives and provide safety advisory and solutioning;
- Actively monitor the safety KPIs within your country and develop early preventive measures;
- Develop motorcycle riding safety training content and programs targeted at driver partners;
- Implement the safety audit roadmap premising on industry best practices and recommendations from safety accreditation bodies;
- Be a passionate advocate for road safety for both users and drivers.
- Augment the individual Country Team in dealing with national regulatory bodies for high-profile cases and issues
The must haves:
- Experience in providing motorcycle riding safety training preferred
- Deep understanding of motorcycle dynamics and the culture of motorcycle riding within the country
- An analytical mindset with ability to present and execute on actionable findings;
- Critically understand quantitative and qualitative patterns that are associated with safety trends;
- An ability to develop a variety of complex policies and procedures with minimal guidance to prevent and mitigate safety risks;
- Possess good problem solving/decision making, communication and interpersonal skills;
- A strong judgment and moral compass;
- An ability to work cross-functionally, independently or virtually in a minimally structured and fast-paced environment;
- Self-motivated to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines;
- Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Solid spoken and written communication skills;
- An ability to manage motorcycle related incident investigations;
- Knowledgeable about local motorcycle safety incidents context and trends a plus
- Start-up experience a plus;
- Existing network of private and public sector contacts.
- Passion to ensure a safe ride experience for all our passengers and drivers;
- Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Solid spoken and written communication skills;
- Proficiency with Tableau a plus
- Direct experience with handling ISO 9001 initiatives for an organisation a plus;
- Start-up experience a plus;
- Stay current on industry and governmental regulations, and develop strong relationships with law enforcement, government or private sector counterparts;
- Existing network of private and public sector contacts.
