SENIOR ANDROID & JAVA DEVELOPER – CONSUMER INSIGHTS & INNOVATION OPERATIONS

Nielsen is looking for a highly motivated, result-oriented Developer to join the Consumer Insights &
Innovation Operations team. This is an opportunity to work with a team within Nielsen to build new
products, support existing products, and launch industry-leading technology.

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to be a productive member of the Consumer
Insights & Innovation Operations team that designs, builds, tests, delivers and supports our growing

The role of the Developer is to interact with all stakeholders including researcher, operations, application
development and client service, to ensure the products we build and support are meeting our clients’
needs while meeting company financial goals.

You will be a member of and work in our feature based agile squads, these autonomous multi-stack
squads form the core of our group's development structure. We offer a friendly proactive and engaging
working environment and encourage creativity and enquiring minds who keep up to date on the latest
changes in the Android operating system.

Objective:
You will be working on range adding innovative new features as well as fixing existing software bugs and
creating new Apps for our growing market sectors. Liaising with both our test and UX teams as well as
working with other Developers will form part of your day to day work all occurring within an enthusiastic
agile development environment.

This position will have a key responsibility in enhancing and supporting our CI&I Operations, panels and
adjacent product variants. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

 Design, develop, data instrumentation for the Android API
 Develop tests to exercise the data collection
 Implement best practices that enable a quality product
 

Responsibilities & Qualifications: 
 Ideally a bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or any related IT
technology fields
 Strong knowledge of database concepts and programming including SQL
 Proven experience in in designing and implementing solutions for Andriod platforms
 Experience working with JavaScript programming
 A can-do attitude and an aptitude for learning new systems and processes.
 Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
 Outstanding organisational/time management skills and the ability to focus and prioritize
 Creative problem solving and analytical skills
