Get to know our Team:

  • The Business Development team is responsible for building up portfolio of long term strategic partnership that brings value to Grab’s passengers and driver-partners. We work in a fast-paced environment, with a culture of individual ownership of key strategic pillars for Grab Malaysia.
  • The Business Development team holds and manages external relationships from SMEs, MNCs to Government and Government Agencies.


Get to know the Role

  • Candidate will primarily be focusing on strategic initiatives for Driver-Partners. Strategic initiatives must aim to enhance, add-value and increase the overall value proposition to be a Grab driver-partner. Candidate will also have opportunities work on passenger strategic initiatives across Grab’s multiple businesses as well.
  • Candidate will be required to be agile and think critically to curate strategic partnerships that will add value to Grab and the Strategic Partner.

  • Candidate must be able to work with external parties and can be comfortable meeting external parties from various industries and working levels.

  • Candidate should be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects during a specific time-frame.

  • Candidate will be required to have good internal and external stakeholdership; constantly managing expectations and providing regular updates to ensure the initiative is constantly moving forward.

  • Candidate must have experience in championing legal and business contracts to see thru draft until signing; working with internal legal team to ensure legal contracts serves both external and internal interest.


The day-to-day activities:

  • Functional - ​Plan and detail out roll-out plans with key partners to ensure smooth partnership launch
  • Create operational plans to maintain post-launch partnerships that creates efficiency and timeliness between Grab and partner

  • Support direct manager with key partners initiatives to achieve goals set out by Grab and partner

  • Support other managers within the department for both Driver-Partners and Passenger initiatives

  • Occasionally take ownership on exploring ideas with potential partners and drive the partnership forward that contributes to the department’s and company’s goals

  • Able to create high quality proposals even with a short time-frame

  • Negotiate and curate the best deal structure that adds the most value to Grab

  • People - Collaborate with other departments to gain support and commitment when necessary.

  • Work closely with BD partnership leads to generate insights and initiate action on these insights

The must haves:

  • Bachelor (or above) degree in Business/ Management or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and provide comprehensive solutions for varying customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Have a competitive edge and thrive in a team environment.
  • Be very organized and communicate well.
