Business Data Analyst

Get to know our Team:
Business Improvement & Automation team is responsible for evangelizing process re-engineering, LEAN & Six Sigma methodology, and process automation (RPA) in order to provide the efficiency leverage for the business to grow sustainably. We operate on a project basis starting from generation of a business case, scoping of requirements, facilitation of improvement workshops, to the development of automation and process re-engineering solutions.

Get to know the role:
Business Data Analysts are responsible for driving the analytical scene within the Business Improvement & Automation team. You will draw on your technical and analytical knowledge to drive data-related initiatives in order for partner teams to derive greater insights and to achieve maximum efficiency. You're a fast and hungry learner who is energized by ambiguity and is capable of executing tasks independently. Together, we would make a significant impact in helping Grab to achieve its mission and vision.

The exciting day-to-day activities:

• Build and improve data architecture and systems for new and existing ETL pipelines

• Execute SQL queries, provide recurring / ad-hoc reports or updates

• Run data modeling to bring order and insight to complex datasets

• Design, develop and maintain visualisation tools to empower partner teams

• Discover & drive program initiatives through data driven recommendations and partner with cross-functional teams to implement/launch them

• Communicate findings from data analysis to senior stakeholders, influencing them to make the best decisions possible

• Documentation of data architectures, operation processes and etc.

The absolute must-haves:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent experience

• 1-3 years of work experience in a data engineer / analytical role with proficiency in SQL/NoSQL and programming in languages like Python, R, Javascript, and etc.

• Excellent understanding of database architectures and ETL pipelines

• Keen eyes for unlocking opportunities in big datasets

• Good communication skills

• Last but not least, a very good team player

The really good-to-haves:

• Awesome Keynote / Microsoft PowerPoint / data visualization (e.g. Tableau / Qlikview) skills

• Familiarity with AWS Suites / Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud

• Experience with automating processes using scripts and machine learning
