Get to know our Team:

  • This role will be part of a dynamic team in a growing company. He/She will be part of Corporate Security and will develop and implement the Occupational Health and Safety program and projects across the region.


Get to know the Role:

  • Occupational Health and Safety is the key factor for Grab in order to promote the physical wellness of all Grab employees. It is a duty and moral responsibility of the company to look after the employee’s protection.

  • Regional OHS manager supports, reduces business cost and disruption and creates productive work environment.


The day-to-day activities:

  • Assume responsibility as the key focal point overseeing occupational, health and safety functions for Grab operations

  • Develop and implement Occupational, Health and Safety Management Systems that are compliant, effective and align with strategic objectives

  • Maximise organisational risk resilience through the ongoing development of people, resources, systems and processes

  • Create roadmaps, drive and implement appropriate solutions to meet the fast-growing demands of Grab

  • Lead regional OHS review process to help management detect accident/health hazards and determine corrective or preventive measures

  • Assess and manages OHS/ facility-related risks with the long-term objective to eliminate hazards and further reduce risk across global operations

  • Monitor health and safety indicators, internal changes, external development in legislation or best practice and recommend appropriate action

  • Coordinate and manage the integration and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety processes

  • Conducts briefings to internal and external parties, and is involved in specific projects and office operations as needed to resolve complex problems, support training or meet critical milestones.

  • Provide technical input to the business continuity planning process and be available to support the Incident/ Crisis Management Team

  • Develops processes that require innovation and ingenuity. Work performed without appreciable direction; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments

  • Research occupational, health and safety standards in new and emerging markets that Grab operates in and advise on relevant risks

  • Liaise with OHS legislative bodies and emergency services as required to agree and set clear escalation procedures and ensure alignment with Grab’s occupational  health and safety management system

  • Deliver OHS training as required

  • Maintain an active OHS network with other multinational companies and relevant government agencies

  • Oversee the production of OHS management documents (plans and analytical assessments) throughout the region

  • Provide functional leadership on OHS matters with all Cluster Security Managers


The must haves:

  • Possess in depth knowledge of local OHS legislation, OHASA 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Fire Safety and procedures or relevant regional OHS knowledge 

  • Degree in Engineering/Occupational, Health and Safety or equivalent with at least 8 to 10yrs’ OHS experience from a corporate function

  • Ability to engage the workforce at all levels in the journey to build a strong OHS culture and a collaborative team-oriented approach

  • Strong understanding of risk based health and safety management systems

  • Strong operational and commercial experience with the ability to influence at all levels within the organization

  • Registered WSHO and possess Confined Space Safety Assessor certification (preferred)

  • Extensive OHS experience, including working-level subject matter expertise, project/process leadership and department or functional area management

  • An experienced and skilled communicator, capable of communicating concisely and logically on complex issues, both in writing and verbally

  • A skilled and experienced team member, capable of working in a rapidly developing and changing environment

  • An ability to show good technical and business judgement in pressured situations

  • Independent, self-motivated with good communication skills with all stakeholders including authorities, contractors and employees.
