- Ensures that all purchasing requirements are understood and managed within the ERP system to support production requirements.
- Utilizes reports from the ERP system to purchase required goods which are delivered in a timely manner.
- Adjusts purchased quantities based on changes in requirements.
- Negotiates and establishes purchase pricing that meets management expectations.
- May direct subordinates to accomplish department goals.

- Ability to read and interpret basic documents such as hardward specification sheet, Bill Of Materials and standard procedures.
- Purchase assigned parts using the Time Phased report and other system based signals to assure timely delivery.
- Understands the ERP system purchasing screens and can utilize the system to accomplish assigned tasks; understands inventory and impacts to production.
- Conducting research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
- Communicate effectively with Vendors and co-workers to provide status and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
- Reviews the open order Report and assures that suppliers meet the agreed upon delivery dates.
- Escalates problems to management. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities within the departments.
- Initiates the RTV process for their purchased items when dispositional. Contacts suppliers to communicate problems.
- Adjusts the purchase order to reflect the return. Assures RTV PO line closes.
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.
- Performing inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary.
