INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROL ENGINEER

Job Summary

1. Carry out O&M on I&C work scope (DCS, PLC & Local Instrumentations) with consideration on safety standards.

2. Oversee Technicians and cooperates with a Supervisor in doing hands-on in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting any instrumentation and control related problems.

3. Monitor the availability of spare parts needed by the department, and report Stock level to Supervisor and assist Manager when needed.

4. Find out the enhancement & improvement program items on Plant efficiency, Protection function, and design the action plans in detail

5. Set up the long term and the short term O&M plan, and prepare the budget allocation on I&C side.

6. Preside local maintenance works such as calibration of instruments, and other control related items with Technicians, and conducts Commissioning of instruments, close/open loop function test prior to Plant start up.

7. Participate in evaluating possible involvement of plant control & instrumentation deficiencies, appropriate corrective measures for the operation and maintenance’s recurring problems

8. Support Supervisor to prepare I&C reports, memorandum & documentation of all significant maintenance works, designs, plans and other report as may be required.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Educational Background: 

• BS Engineering.

• 2. Major:

• BS Engineering - EE,ME, I&C, Computer engineering.

3. Sex:

• Male/Female.

• 4. Maximum Age Limit:

• 30 yrs. old.

5. License:

• Registered or Professional qualifications/skills/license issued by the authorized entities.

• 6. Job Related Work Experience:

• Engineering, construction, Commissioning or Routine maintenance work in similar industry.

7. Number of Working Years Required:

• At least 4 years in related field, or 1 year of technician experience in related field.

• 8. Skills Requirements:

• Interpret DCS logic drawing, PLC ladder drawing and Electrical single line drawing.
• Familiar with P&ID drawing, Calibration and periodic maintenance for local instruments such as Furnace monitoring system, Vibration analysis, transmitters.
• Ability to use instrument equipment such as Tester, Oscilloscope, Recorder.

9. Training Requirements:

• Prefer a certificate of completion related to DCS, PLC Systems, Computer application system.
• Prefer a certificate of completion on the training course related to O&M for super critical coal power plant.
• Prefer a certificate of completion for training courses on Process Control such as PID tuning, the basic principle of instrument sensors and the basic measuring theory of local instruments.
