- About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced
- HSE Manager to lead the development of SGS Vietnam's Building & Infrastructure (B&I) HSE service capability while delivering professional HSE supervision services for construction and infrastructure projects.
- This role combines technical leadership, project delivery, business development support, and team capability building to ensure safe, compliant and high-quality project execution.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of SGS B&I HSE capabilities, including procedures, templates, resource planning, competency frameworks and HSE delivery standards.
- Manage and deliver HSE supervision, inspections and audits for construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with legal, client and SGS requirements.
- Review and assess HSE plans, risk assessments (JSA), permit-to-work systems, lifting plans, emergency response plans and other project safety documentation.
- Monitor high-risk construction activities, including work at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, excavation, confined space entry, hot work, electrical/LOTO and fire prevention controls.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions; conduct root cause analysis and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support business development and tender activities by preparing HSE methodologies, manpower plans, technical proposals and project cost estimations.
- Coach and mentor HSE engineers and supervisors, support recruitment activities and contribute to building a competent HSE team across SGS Vietnam.
- Support office and operational HSE activities, training programs, audits and continuous improvement initiatives when not assigned to project sites.
Yêu cầu ứng viên
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, HSE, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of HSE experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, factory or fit-out projects. Experience in consultancy, PMC or third-party supervision is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of contractor safety management, risk assessment (JSA), permit-to-work systems, incident investigation, emergency response and construction safety practices.
- Solid understanding of high-risk activities, including work at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, excavation, confined space, hot work, electrical safety and temporary works.
- Experience leading or mentoring HSE teams and developing HSE procedures, systems and training materials.
- Professional certifications such as
- NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 or equivalent qualifications are an advantage.
- Good communication skills in Vietnamese and English.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites nationwide.
