EHS Specialist (Production & Machine Safety)

Job Summary

• Oversee production and machinery safety, focusing on injection molding, new lines and automated equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments, verify guarding, interlocks, LOTO and pre-startup safety, and coordinate with site functions to prevent injuries, incidents and unsafe working conditions.
• Key Responsibilities
• Machine Safety & LOTO ·       Inspect machine guarding, interlocks, emergency stops and pinch points. ·       Assess heat, electricity, compressed air and other hazardous energy risks. ·       Verify LOTO, energy isolation and zero-energy confirmation. ·       Participate in MOC and PSSR for new, relocated or modified equipment. ·       Review molding machines, robots, automation and auxiliary equipment safety. ·       Track statutory equipment inspections with owners and FAC/Engineering. ·       Recommend safeguards and track critical risk corrective actions.
• Production Safety ·       Conduct HIRA/JSA for production processes, machinery and tasks. ·       Inspect operations for unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. ·       Work with Production on controls and residual risk follow-up. ·       Review PPE matrices, safe work instructions and on-the-job training. ·       Inspect walkways, pedestrian/vehicle separation and lifting operations. ·       Support ergonomic, noise, heat and workplace condition assessments. ·       Investigate incidents/near misses, determine causes and track CAPA. ·       Coordinate safe maintenance and installations with FAC and Engineering.
• Compliance & Audit ·       Monitor occupational safety and machinery legal requirements. ·       Support ISO 45001, RBA, Corporate and Customer audits. ·       Verify CAPA effectiveness and update residual risk assessments. ·       Maintain SOPs, work instructions, checklists and JTV 77-series safety records.
• Reporting ·       HIRA/JSA risk assessment and machine safety reports. ·       LOTO, MOC and PSSR inspection reports. ·       Safety KPI, workplace inspection and PPE reports. ·       Incident/near-miss, root cause and CAPA reports. ·       Periodic EHS Supervisor and customer audit reports.

• Qualifications
• Education ·       Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety or a relevant engineering discipline. ·       Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics majors are preferred. ·       Training in machine safety, LOTO, HIRA/JSA or ISO 45001 is an advantage.
• Experience ·       Minimum 3 years of EHS or production safety experience in manufacturing. ·       Experience with machine inspections, guarding, interlocks or LOTO. ·       Knowledge of HIRA/JSA, MOC/PSSR and operational risk controls. ·       Injection molding, electronics, machining or automation experience is preferred. ·       Incident investigation, training and audit support experience is an advantage.
• Skills ·       Hazard identification, HIRA/JSA and residual risk assessment. ·       Machine safety, LOTO, guarding and interlock inspection skills. ·       Strong cross-functional communication and onsite coaching skills. ·       Root cause analysis, reporting and CAPA follow-up skills. ·       Safety training and customer audit support capabilities. ·       Working communication skills in English or Chinese.
