Role Description

At Deliveree, we rely on powerfully insightful data to power our systems and solutions. We are looking to hire a talented Big Data Engineer to develop and manage our company’s Big Data solutions, to find strategic solutions to tough problems.

As the Big Data Engineer, you will build useful and disruptive products, design and develop company applications, and coordinate a Data development team to deliver quality software technologies and systems. You will provide technical input to product teams and stakeholders to help make business and product decisions and be part of creating great technology products. This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity that will increase your experience in a fast moving product startup company. What will you do?

• Collecting and processing raw data at scale for a variety of projects and initiatives
• Building and developing systems for storing and processing big data (Big Data)
• Building flexible scalable ETL solutions with high reliability, serving to exploit/ingest various types of data (structure, traffic, speed) from many different sources
• Building and developing data mining and data management tools
• Processing unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis
• Designing solutions for big data collection, normalization, cleansing, enrichment, storage, processing, analysis, and visualization flows
• Designing solutions and directly developing modules, libraries with foundational nature, high reusability, wide impact
• Working closely with the engineering team to integrate your work into our production systems
• Supporting business decisions with ad hoc analysis as needed
• Monitoring data performance and modifying infrastructure as needed.

Your skills and experiences

• Graduated from a regular university with a good grade or higher in data science, computer science, IT, applied mathematics, electronics and telecommunications or related
• Knowledge of storage programming, distributed data processing, big data processing (Hadoop, Spark, Elastic Search…)
• Knowledge of building data processing streams (batch processing, stream processing, ...)
• At least 1 year experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages Python
• Understanding of Linux
• Proficient skills in one of the frameworks, storage libraries, big data processing (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Zookeeper, ...)
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex networking, data, and software issues.
• Experience in agile development methodologies is a must
• The ability to multi-task with no supervision is preferred
