Chief Representative Office (Sourcing office/home improvement)

Core Responsibilities:

Business Leadership – Responsible for overall leadership, execution and performance of assigned office.  Work with Sourcing Leaders in Shanghai on the alignment with Merchandising’s goals and direction. Develop and implement sourcing strategy within assigned SEA countries.  Responsible for developing and cultivating vendor partnerships to meet current and future needs according to strategic direction.  Allocate resources based on proper work assignments. 

People Leadership – Build and lead a high performing local sourcing team. Engage and inspire current teams to meet or exceed job responsibilities. Pursue professional growth and provides developmental opportunities for team members by soliciting and acting on performance feedback.  Build collaborative relationship and open-dialogue environment amongst team members. 

Financial Contribution – Implement sourcing strategies to achieve total company financial goals.  Lead sourcing team to develop and strengthen vendor capabilities – Great vendor, Great product and Lower cost.  Drive pro-actively financial metrics through improved payment term and lead time, container optimization, sales return rate reduction and based upon the cross functional collaboration.

Culture and Compliance – Act as sponsor of Lowe’s culture by nurturing Lowe’s mission and values in assigned office. Assure the office is operating within the established Lowe’s Code of Ethics, policies, procedures and local laws, maintain awareness of local trends (political, economic, competitor, industry, and vendor) in assigned SEA countries.

Operational Excellence –  Manage designated work stream to meet customer and business needs by translating business plans into tactical action items.  Communicate goals and objectives. Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and address the improvement opportunity in current processes and enhance efficiency. Build accountability and measure progress in achieving results.  Guide performance and developing contingency plans accordingly.  Stay current with industry trends, benchmarks and best practices; Provide guidance when difficult decisions need to be made. 

Essential Responsibilities:

Work with sourcing leaders in Shanghai to translate sourcing strategy into actionable objectives and delegate tasks in assigned SEA countries

Lead & Coach team in vendor / factory development and management to align the vendor strategy in whole Asia

Collaborate with Shanghai teams to secure the lower cost options through effective negotiation and value improvement initiatives

Lead sourcing teams to identify and resolve operational issues proactively with the collaboration with cross functional teams in Asia and US

Develop team members through proper work assignments based on individual’s capability and establish performance measurement objectives and honest feedback on regular basis

Bring industry product/manufacturing insights and innovative product offers to Merchandising team

Coordinate w/Shanghai team to lead Finance, HR, administration for Vietam office smooth operation in compliance with both Lowe’s policies and local prevailing laws and regulations

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or other profession in related fields
• 10+ years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility & multi-national company background
• 10+ years of relevant sourcing industry experience and retail market
• Good business acumen and understanding of market trends
• Knowledge of sourcing, manufacturing processes and import practices and procedures
• Knowledge of global supplier base and strong supplier development experience
• Demonstrated leadership of teams – both direct reports and cross business functions
• Proven strategic planner
• Excels at relationship management
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in English and predominate local language(s) 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience
• Relevant industry experience related to Home Improvement products
• Experience in managing supply chain from a global level to an operational level
