Get to know the Role:

  •  Be our expert in sharing Grab’s social impact messages consistently and correctly internally and externally in the region.

  • Develop social impact strategies, initiatives, programs and guidelines for the region that highlights Grab’s commitment to the South East Asia community

  • Thought leader in planning, reporting and aligning key stakeholders to showcase data and results for social impact-driven activities 

  • Establish and manage strategic government relations and partnerships, representing Grab at key government meetings and events to help the team achieve its social mission

  • Lead in key partnerships with community stakeholders in both public and private sector to help Grab achieve its social mission, programs and values 

  • Be the spokesperson, advocate and media liaison for social impact. Lead strategic advisory on public affairs 

  • Drive research and keep abreast with trends and industry leading best practices in sustainability and social impact  


The day-to-day activities:

  • Leading Grab’s social impact and government affairs agenda by building communication initiatives to contribute positively to Grab’s brand and reputation 

  • Serve as focal point for internal stakeholder management to align strategy with execution and measurable social impact 

  • Develop, lead and groom a team of passionate social impact team members 

  • Work closely with the regional Communications and Public Affair teams to identify and develop strategies and communications to advocate our policy positions 

  • Work closely with Analytics teams to measure correct data points in the most efficient manner

  • Work closely with Country operations and marketing teams to influence, improve or change processes and implement projects/activities that have a social impact

  • Proactively keep abreast of developments in the industry and new initiates by the divisions/subsidiaries including competition to identify and publicise newsworthy developments internally and externally.

  • Provide consultancy advice to internal teams when requested


The must haves:

  • Bachelor degree with at least 8 years of relevant social impact communications experience working with media, government, think tanks, NGOs, Foundations, or corporations. Experience in media strategy and/or tech consulting would be an advantage

  • Familiar with social reporting and assessment standards - GRI, ISO26000, etc. Ability to write reports would be an added advantage.

  • Experienced in running social impact projects and have demonstrable results 

  • Passionate about solving problems and sharing results – possesses a relentless need for investigation, data exploration and dissemination

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated experience in internal and external senior stakeholder engagement

  • Tech savvy and results-oriented, with strong intuitions on how to share information strategically and quickly.

  • Creative and empathetic - able to draw key points and share stories that speak to the target audience 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven teamwork ability

  • Fluency in another Southeast Asian language an advantage.
