Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement & Sustainability Manager to oversee the sourcing of spice commodities and lead sustainability initiatives within our spice manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, a deep understanding of the spice supply chain, and a passion for sustainable practices that support ethical sourcing and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Procurement Responsibilities:
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for various spice commodities with a focus on quality, cost, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with farmers, traders, and suppliers.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to ensure optimal procurement efficiency.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain disruptions to inform sourcing strategies.
• Ensure timely procurement to meet production schedules and delivery commitments.
2) Sustainability Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee ongoing sustainability initiatives aligned with company goals and industry standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to promote sustainable farming practices.
• Implement and monitor supplier sustainability audits and compliance.
• Track and report on sustainability metrics, including social, environmental, and ethical standards.
• Promote awareness and best practices for sustainability within the organization and across the supply chain.
3) Cross-functional Coordination:
• Work closely with production, quality, and R&D teams for seamless supply and product quality assurance.
• Contribute to strategic planning and development of sustainability policies.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within the spice, agricultural, or food industry.
• Proven experience in leading sustainability initiatives and working with farmers/traders.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, fair trade principles, and relevant certifications (e.g., RFA, Organic).
• Ability to analyze market data and develop innovative sourcing solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and supply chain management software.
