Planning Manager

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Spartronics Viet Nam is seeking a Planning Manager who is responsible for developing and executing all production plans to ensure on-time delivery, balanced capacity, material readiness, and efficient production flow. This role oversees planning teams (Master Planning, Material Planning, Production Scheduling) and collaborates closely with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to drive schedule adherence and cost optimization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Production Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer orders, forecast, and capacity.
• Convert customer demand into weekly / daily production plans.
• Maintain and update production schedules, ensuring alignment with manufacturing priorities.
• Monitor WIP and production progress, resolve bottlenecks, and escalate risks.

2. Material & Capacity Planning:

• Ensure material availability through coordination with Procurement and Warehouse.
• Review BOM readiness, lead time, and supplier delivery performance.
• Perform capacity analysis and utilization planning for manpower, machines & lines.
• Implement planning rules to optimize lot size, productivity, and changeover efficiency.

3. Customer Delivery & On-Time Performance:

• Control production lead time and drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) ≥ target.
• Manage Customer Schedule Change Request (pull-in / push-out / cancellation).
• Lead cross-functional meetings to protect delivery commitments.
• Provide weekly delivery status update to Sales / Program Managers.

4. Systems, Reporting & Data Management:

• Maintain accurate planning data in ERP/MRP system.
• Develop dashboards on OTD, line utilization, WIP aging, demand vs supply status.
• Lead planning digitalization initiatives (D365 / SAP / Oracle / MES integration).

5. People Management:

• Lead and develop Planning team (Master Planner, Material Planner, Scheduler).
• Build competency, succession plan, and performance evaluation.
• Train team to improve planning discipline, analytical skills, and problem solving.

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Manufacturing, or related field.

2. Experience: 

• Minimum 5–7 years in production/material planning within EMS/PCBA environment.
• Strong knowledge of BOM, Routing, MRP/ERP, SMT/PCBA processes.  
• Proven track record of leading planning teams and improving OTD performance. 

3. Others:

• Deep knowledge of supply chain planning and capacity loading.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making & communication skills.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership ability.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (D365 is a plus).
• English communication (written & verbal) is preferred.
