Get to know our Team:

  • New Platform Business is part of the broader Grab Ventures & New Platform Business team

  • Grab Ventures & New Platform Business incubates and launches new categories/ services through building from scratch and/or strategic partnerships. Examples include eScooter sharing (GrabWheels), movie ticketing etc.     

  • Grab Ventures focuses on building & scaling new startups within Grab and selected strategic investments e.g. GrabWheels. 

  • New Platform Business focuses on launching & scaling new services through strategic partnerships e.g. Movies

  • The team’s background is generally from startups, tech or management consulting. 

Get to know the Role:

We’re looking for a driven and resilient self-starter to support the scaling-up of one or more new categories/ services for Grab, as part of Grab’s vision to continue becoming the largest SuperApp in SouthEast Asia. This person will drive strategic growth, manage category P&L and engage internal/external stakeholders across the region. The ideal candidate should have strong commercial orientation, analytical and interpersonal skills, ability to execute a vision in a matrixed and regional organization. This position is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The day-to-day activities:

  • For the assigned category(ies), achieve growth and profitability targets

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends / events, and continually stay on top of industry and competitive trends.

  • Develop a complete understanding of the customer needs, both existing and potential, and use that knowledge to advocate for and drive delivery of features that provide Grab customers with an unparalleled experience.

  • Support the development of an  operating plan and budget to grow the category and scale within a country and across South East Asia

  • Setup and track operating and financial metrics  

  • Work with regional and local business development teams to manage partner contracts, day-to-day relationships, and negotiate and secure marketing funds. Listen to their needs, feedback, and stay in close communications

  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties to drive operational improvements.

  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.

  • Work with internal marketing and/or partner’s marketing team(s) to craft a compelling campaign by leveraging co-marketing partnership with our partners to bring value to our customers, which also drive more value back to our partners.

  • Ensuring consistency and quality: Have the greatest interest to make sure partners are also maintaining service consistency. Liaising with operations, customer service and partners to ensure issues are resolved over email, phone, or in person.

  • Frequent travel within Indonesia and across South East Asia expected 

 

The must haves:

  • 6-8 years of work experience in a startup, early stage tech company or management consulting background

  • Of which, minimum of 3 years of P&L management

  • Business development or partner/ account management functional experience

  • An exceptional track record of working with various stakeholders and delivering results

  • Multi-tasking and able to work under pressure and constantly changing environment

  • Great attention to detail, communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Fluency in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia

  • High level of resilience and grit
