Get to know the Role:
We are looking for an experienced financial controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
The day-to-day activities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Manage Group Consolidation
- Coordinate and direct the preparation and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal control
- Experience on Finance Due Diligence for Merger & Acquisitions
- Track the Group’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
- Provide insightful information and expectations to management to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
- Drive group standardization across business modelling and accounting treatment
- Business partnering and provide advisory for new business modelling and operationalization
- Lead a large team with 8-10 in country Finance Heads as direct reports across countries in SEA
- Experienced in post-merger finance integration
- Additional controller duties as necessary
The must haves:
- Proven working experience as a Financial controller
- 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead and drive complex operational initiatives
- Collaborative working style and ability to work with business owner/ business partner
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with impeccable business judgment and the ability to communicate effectively with management
- Knowledge of finance, full set accounts and internal control principles
- Self-motivated, capable of driving changes and initiatives
- Good team player who is hands-on, committed and responsible and can deliver with tight deadlines
- Able to work under pressure, independently and multitask
- Possess professional qualities with good communication, interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Experienced in managing a large team
- Good inter-personal skills good people manager and stakeholder management
