EHS & Sustainability Manager

The EHS & Sustainability Manager is responsible for leading Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Sustainability programs at the company’s facility. This role ensures full regulatory compliance, safe working conditions, and continuous improvement in environmental performance while supporting Cirql’s mission to deliver low-impact, circular foam solutions for the athletic footwear industry.

Key responsibilities are as below:

1) EHS Leadership & Compliance:

· Lead and manage all EHS programs across the manufacturing site.

· Ensure compliance with:

+ Local environmental, health, and safety regulations.

+ Global EHS standards and corporate policies.

· Develop, implement, and maintain EHS management systems aligned with:

+ ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).

+ ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety).

+ GRS (Global Recycled Standards).

· Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analysis (JSA).

· Lead incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.

· Drive continuous improvement in workplace safety culture and behavior.

2) Environmental & Sustainability Management:

· Manage and improve environmental performance related to:

+ Energy consumption and energy efficiency.

+ Water usage and wastewater treatment.

+ Solid waste reduction, recycling, and circular waste solutions.

+ Air emissions, VOC control, and chemical exposure management in foam production.

· Lead site-level carbon footprint calculation (Scope 1 & 2; relevant Scope 3) and reduction initiatives.

· Support implementation of circular economy principles in foam manufacturing, including:

+ Use of recycled, bio-based, and recyclable materials.

+ Zero-waste-to-landfill and closed-loop initiatives.

3) Chemical & Process Safety:

· Oversee chemical management programs in compliance with:

+ ZDHC MRSL.

+ Brand RSLs and chemical safety requirements.

+ GRS

· Ensure safe storage, handling, use, and disposal of chemicals and foaming agents.

· Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and R&D teams to reduce chemical risks and environmental impact while maintaining product performance.

4) Customer, Audit & Certification Management:

· Act as site EHS & Sustainability lead for:

+ Customer audits (Higg FEM, SMETA, brand-specific EHS audits).

+ Third-party certifications and regulatory inspections.

· Prepare documentation, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement roadmaps.

· Support communication of Cirql’s EHS and sustainability performance to global footwear brand partners.

5) Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

· Maintain accurate EHS and sustainability data related to:

+ Safety KPIs (TRIR, LTIR, near-miss reporting).

+ Energy, water, waste, emissions, and chemical usage.

· Prepare internal and external EHS & sustainability reports.

· Identify improvement opportunities through data analysis and benchmarking.

6) Training & Employee Engagement:

· Develop and deliver EHS and sustainability training programs for employees and contractors.

· Promote employee engagement, awareness, and ownership of EHS and sustainability goals.

· Build a proactive safety and sustainability culture across all levels of the organization.

1. Education & Knowledge:

+  Bachelor or Master degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Engineering or a related field.

+  Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and environmental compliance.

+  Solid understanding of chemical safety and process safety in production.

+  Familiarity with life cycle analysis (LCA) and circular material design is a plus.

+  Preferred Certifications: ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, Higg FEM Practitioner, ZDHC Chemical Management certification, etc.

2. Foreign language: Fluent in English communication (spoken and written).

3. Skill:

+  Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

+  Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

+  Excellent communication, presentation, training, and leadership skills.

4. Experience:

+   Compulsory: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in EHS and/or Sustainability roles at same level, with proven experience working with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 systems, Higg FEM, ZDHC, and brand EHS requirements.

+   Preferable: Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments.
